Facing their different missions, the Messengers of Fire embark on diverse and captivating journeys of destiny. They will experience a variety of scenes—ranging from stumbling upon paradises to facing intense battles; they may fight side by side or become adversaries... It all depends on the regions they inhabit in the game and the rules established by MetaCene:
Based on safety levels, MetaCene's game regions are mainly divided into Safe Zones, Neutral Zones, Danger Zones, and Ruins Zones. Among them, Safe Zones, Neutral Zones, and Danger Zones are distributed on each game server, while Ruins Zones are hosted by separate game servers and are unique to MetaCene.
Based on the different functions and scenes carried by these regions, MetaCene divides its core gameplay into:
Mining System - across all game regions
PVE System - across all game regions
PVP System - available in Danger Zones, Neutral Zones, and Ruins Zones
MetaCene adheres to the principle of "emphasis on socialization, emphasis on competitiveness." "Emphasis on socialization" means that MetaCene values players' social experience in the game; "emphasis on competitiveness" means that MetaCene emphasizes the competitiveness and confrontation in the game. By providing rich plots and unique growth paths for players, MetaCene offers deep gameplay content, avoiding repetitive game modes like dungeon grinding in traditional MMOs, thus maximizing the gaming experience.
Mining - Organically Integrated Throughout Player Journey
Participating in Mining is one of the ways players engage with MetaCene, which is a feature made available in all game areas and gameplay. Players can obtain minerals and Dragonals (level 1) by purchasing mining machine NFT and placing it in the mining points in various areas. Minerals and Dragonals are important synthetic materials in the game. The grade of the mineral point determines the output of mining materials.
PVE - Open World & Dungeon Encounter
The PVE gameplay in MetaCene spans across every region and can be categorized into two main types: Open World and Dungeon Encounter.
Open World: This type of gameplay focuses on Environmental Gameplay, providing players with extensive and entertaining gameplay mechanics such as parkour racing and resource gathering. Open World supports seamless large maps where new gameplay elements emerge every 100 meters, with dynamically triggered events like escorting merchants, repelling monster sieges, and repairing equipment.
Regular PVE: Personal exclusive storylines and scenarios, triggering special monster spawns.
Story Events: Common plotlines mainly involving completing daily tasks to earn loot rewards, typically obtained by the first individual player or team to attack monsters.
Elite Monsters and Boss Battles: Multiplayer PVE challenges to test players’ strength, with loot rewards for the final blow.
Dungeon Encounter: This gameplay centers around Roguelike mechanics, serving as the game’s primary challenge content. It includes both solo and multiplayer dungeons, where players acquire development resources based on different levels of difficulty. Each dungeon encounter presents unique content, with a map consisting of 4x4 rooms offering varied gameplay experiences in different rooms (e.g., reward rooms, supply rooms, boss rooms). Monsters in dungeons have a chance to drop special skills that are only effective within that specific dungeon.
MetaCene innovatively combines Roguelike with MMO gaming by allowing players to team up for dungeon experiences. Since dungeon content is random, players cannot strategically configure teams to conquer dungeons, igniting their desire for challenge and exploration and leading to more opportunities for repeated gameplay experiences.
While traditional Roguelike games tend to minimize the impact of numerical values, allowing players to inherit some attributes accumulated from previous runs to aid in progressing further, MetaCene’s Roguelike preserves the numerical values accumulated by players in the “main world.” Players can break through dungeon progress by upgrading and enhancing in the “main world,” maintaining the randomness and entertainment value of Roguelike gameplay without contradicting the game’s framework.
PVP - The Core Gameplay
PVP is the main scene where players compete for resources and large-scale wars occur. PVP mainly occurs in the neutral zone, danger zone and ruins zone, and is the core and soul of MetaCene. In PVP gameplay, minerals can be competed for, and players need to protect their own mining turf.
Unlike the purely combat-focused mode in traditional RPGs, PVP competition in MetaCene comes with unique storylines revolving around resource and interest disputes, combining both confrontation and cooperation.
Confrontation is evident in various scales of free PK battles and group battles occurring for the sake of resource and asset ownership. Cooperation is demonstrated as players naturally form communities, engaging in socialization, information sharing, and honor displays. Guild wars foster internal cooperation and group honor within guilds. During resource looting, players hire others to participate in battles, generating value output for asset investment.
MetaCene's ruins areas feature a uniquely designed Meta PVP mode, a special PK mode that integrates PVE and PVP, creating multiple competitive scenarios. The prehistoric domains in MetaCene combine PVP and PVE gameplay. Players enter specific instances through tickets, which are shared with other players, creating a resource-rich "mini world." However, players must compete with each other to obtain enough resources when facing other players in the instance. Resources are distributed among the monsters in the instance, and combined with the last-hit drop mechanism in the game, players not only need to use PVE skills reasonably but also showcase PVP skills to fend off other players.
The arena matches are divided into 4v4 and 2v2 battle modes. Players sign up for matches at designated NPCs and enter matchmaking. During the arena matches, players receive certain attribute adjustments. Participation in arena matches earns PVP experience, and winning or killing players grants additional PVP experience. PVP experience is used to increase the player's PVP level, which in turn provides attribute bonuses and title rewards. Characters do not drop items upon death in arena matches.
Social System
Mining, PVE, and PVP in MetaCene encompass various paths for player social interaction. In the game, players not only experience immersive storytelling and scenes but also establish cross-space social interactions.
However, social interactions in MetaCene are not entirely positive. For instance, as players explore the world of Bohr, conflicts with other players are inevitable. When a player is killed by another, the perpetrator enters the slain player's list of enemies. Through the revenge feature, players can view the perpetrator and the loot dropped upon their killing. Upon successfully avenging themselves, an announcement is broadcast server-wide, and the perpetrator is removed from the enemy list.
Throughout their gaming experience, players encounter like-minded friends and can add them as friends through the social system. Mutual friends can view each other's online status, send team invitations, and initiate private chats.
MetaCene encourages team participation in both PVE and PVP gameplay. In PVE, teaming up allows players to share experience points within a certain range, enhancing leveling efficiency. Moreover, some dungeons require team cooperation due to their high difficulty levels. In PVP, teaming up allows players to engage in combat with other teams. The game also features team-based multiplayer PVP battles such as the Arena.
For players seeking to establish influence and collaborate, guilds are their best option in MetaCene. Guild members can upgrade guild technology by contributing, which in turn increases members' benefits within the game world. Additionally, guild members can participate in battles for new territories. These battles determine the victorious guild of the period, which gains control over the new territory and guild mines.
